Praying for Asia
Prayer Request

Name: Pr. Prakash Abraham
Father’s Name: Mr. C.J. Abraham
Place: P.O. Badshahpur, District Gurgaon, Haryana, India.
Age: 39 Years

I was born and brought up in a nominal Christian family in Dt. Idukki, State Kerala, India. My father was a farmer and mother a house wife. I have an younger sister too. We were following the customs of the nominal Church where we were attending. But I was not having personal faith in Jesus Christ till I became 20.

At the age of twenty, I was invited by one of my friends to attend a big Christian Crusade near to our place by a famous God’s Servant. During that meeting, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord. It was a turning point in my life. I confessed my sins and received His forgiveness. I decided to follow Him and serve Him with my life.

Initially, my parents opposed my decision to join a Bible Seminary in Kerala. As I was steadfast, they agreed with me and send me for Bible Training. I completed my Bachelor of Theology in 1997 and decided to come to North India to serve the Lord. Miraculously He opened ways for me to come to North India and I landed in a state named Punjab. I worked in Punjab with Believers Church India who sent me to different states in North West India like Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Delhi etc. in North India. I became a cross-cultural missionary at the age of 23!

It was due to the Lord’s guidance that I came to North India. After the completion of my theological studies, I got special call from the Lord to do ministry in North Indian parts. I obeyed Him and came to North India in 1997. I have received my Masters degree in Divinity (M.Div.) from Asian Theological Association.

I was neither knowing the language of the people here (i.e. Hindi) nor their customs. In the initial stages it was very difficult for me to work among these people. As I prayed, the Lord enabled me to learn the language quickly. The food pattern, climate everything was totally different. I was struggling very much. But by His grace, I was able to overcome all those difficulties and within one year the Lord enabled me to take care of some pastors and Churches in the area. First I was working in Himachal Pradesh, one of the coldest hill stations of India. Later I went to Jammu & Kashmir, then came to Punjab and later to Haryana. Presently I am working at Gurgaon, Haryana, one of the fast developing Cyber Cities in India.

The Lord gave me rich experience in Church Planting ministry here. For eleven years I worked with a leading Christian Organisation in India.

In 2008, the Lord’s Holy Spirit prompted me to leave that organization and to start doing the ministry by faith. I obeyed Him and took the decision. Initially I was struggling in many ways, but the Lord was very faithful with me. He took care of me and lead me in an amazing way. He enabled me to start a mission named ‘DIVINE CARE’ in 2010, with a vision to reach the unreached with the Gospel of Christ and to care for the un-cared.

We have started a primary school in the name of ‘Promise Land’ at Badshahpur, District Gurgaon, Haryana in this year. Slowly it became a means to reach the un-reached people in the area with the Gospel. As a result, a Church is formed. By the Lord’s grace, the Church is growing and the believers are getting strong in their faith.

I thank God for His leadings in my life and ministry. I live with my wife Beena, daughters Keziah and Keren and son Solomon in Dt. Gurgaon, State Haryana, India.
